Tan Nguyen, MD
Medicine represents a kaleidoscope of compassion and humanity, science and research. Dr. Tan Nguyen feels fortunate to have experienced and integrated these concepts into his personal and professional life.
“I want to have a solid knowledge in basic science and general medicine but ultimately, I want to use that knowledge to help my patients,” he says. “I also enjoy the interpersonal relationship that clinical medicine affords me.”
Dr. Nguyen earned his undergraduate degree and subsequently his medical degree at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. The University of California, Irvine (UCI) then invited Dr. Nguyen to participate in some medical research as a postgraduate researcher. His work resulted in multiple articles in a variety of medical journals. After completing a residency in internal medicine at the New York University (NYU), he spent two years as a faculty member at the University of Missouri. Dr. Nguyen trained in dermatology through the American Association of Physician Specialists (AAPS) in central California. His scope of practice extends to medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Tamuyen Nguyen, MD
Dr. Tamuyen Nguyen believes the art of medicine integrates both the application of science and the establishment of an interpersonal relationship with a patient.
“I love to communicate with my patients; to help them understand their skin problems and then work with them to find the most suitable and best therapeutic options,” she says.
She completed her undergraduate and medical school education through the University of Missouri-Kansas City 6-Year Medical Program. Dr. Nguyen did her residency at Baylor College of Medicine in family medicine. She returned to her roots and was a faculty member at the University of Missouri for two years. Having always been stimulated by an interest in dermatology, she undertook a 3-year fellowship in dermatology through the American Association of Physician Specialists (AAPS). For the past six years she has narrowed the scope of her practice to dermatology and provides an array of medical, surgical, and cosmetic services to address her patients’ needs.

At Advanced Skin Clinic & Surgery, we strive to meet our patients’ expectations by providing a comprehensive assessment of their dermatologic conditions, offering an array of therapeutic options, and establishing an interpersonal relationship which lets them know they matter to us.
Dr. Tan Nguyen and Dr. Tamuyen Nguyen welcome their patients into a warm and inviting clinic atmosphere. The staff is always attentive and responsive to patient care. The physicians have a combination of almost 15 years of dermatology experience and an unsurpassed commitment to their patients. They offer state-of-the-art procedures that are not readily available in the area.
As a husband and wife team, they share a wonderful working and personal relationship. They are balanced with having a “family” of staff and patients as well as a family with three children.
